I have joined the blogging world!

Well....this is my first blog...so let's see how it goes! As most of you know David & I had been trying to have children for about 2 years. We finally found out that we would be unable to have biological children (according to the doctors). During this journey we always kept the option of adoption open because growing up I had wonderful friends that were adopted and it has always had such a special place in my heart.

Anyways after the doctors told us that adoption would probably be the only way we could have children....we really felt that was God's way of telling us to go down this adoption road. After discussing the various means of adoption we decided to go through the state agency, DHR. Going through DHR meant that we might not be promised an infant but again God placed it on our hearts that maybe it wasn't in His plan for us to have an infant...maybe His plan is for us to have older children in our house. After much prayer & thought we enrolled in the GPS classes offered through our county DHR office. We attended 10 weeks of classes and completed both our home visits by the beginning of August.

After our last home visit our social worker was going on two weeks vacation so we knew that we wouldn't be hearing anything in that time. Anyways...God's timing is always on time whether we think that or not! During the time our social worker was on vacation, my Dad became very ill, had a stroke and then passed away on August 31st. There is this God thing again! He knew that we would be unable to deal with our foster care/adoption process at the same time we were going back and forth to Montgomery to take care of my dad.

So here it is the middle of October and we have heard nothing...except to be waiting to receive our "foster care" license in the mail. Again..this is God's timing. A couple of months ago there would have been no way David & I could have supported a child with him not receiving a regular paycheck (the construction business has been very slow), taking care of my dad's business, etc. Well....as of this week David & my father-in-law have been hired as employees of Auburn University! God has surely met our needs and continues to! We are continuing to pray for the children that will be placed in our lives and the birth families of those children. We know that as all things do everything will work out in God's timing! We give him the praise & glory for all the things that happen in our life!

Hope I didn't bore you too much & I hope I remember to update this blog every now and then!
